Welcome to my site, which is dedicated to my 1996 3.8L V-6 Ford Windstar (similar to the one pictured above), which now is not worth much more than the $5500 (CDN) I put into it to replace the engine due to a defective head gasket. If you've arrived at this site because you are experiencing problems with your 1996 or newer Ford Windstar, I hope that the information contained here will help. It is my goal that this site become a repository of information that will be helpful to future Canadian Windstar head gasket victims. Remember that it is the opinion of the Center for Auto Safety in Washington DC that "head gaskets should not fail during the life of a vehicle. They are designed to last the life of a vehicle and are not routine maintenance items in Ford's Owners Manuals." If your Windstar's head gasket has failed, causing you to repair the head gasket or replace the engine, Ford should be covering the cost.
