This page shows the splicing for heavy marine. This job was done in the GWB. Ropes plant in 1986. The rope was 6 inch circumference or 2 inch diameter and were docklines with 6 ft. long eyes for the 27,000 ton gulf ferry "Caribou" when it was first put in service between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
