Title: Beer Haze Days

Even if he didn’t end up with a wife, Drew was still enjoying the reception. He did pay for it after all and was entitled to enjoy a party, especially with his fiancé flying back South.
“I’m sorry Drew,” his mother comforted him, but really it was her who needed the comforting. She was weeping over the grandchildren she was sure to never have from her younger son.
“It’s all right mom,” he began patting her shoulders, “It’ll be fine…” he passed the sniffling woman off on his brother. She was taking it worse than he was.

“Kellie!’ he lit up when he saw her, walking directly over to her.
“I’m sorry about your wedding,” she forced herself to say.
He shrugged, feeling bashful, “I think I could be okay with it.” He smiled at her, taking her hand in his.
“I think we both could,” she squeezed his hand, smiling into his eyes.

Lewis was enjoying himself too. The idea of having a wife, his very own, was making him giddy. One might speculate that it was softening the usual jerky janitor.
“Sucker!” he bellowed at Drew as he danced by with his bride.

But than again, some people never change.

“Lewis,” Arianna playfully smacked his shoulder, laughing at his different personality, “You know you’re bad.” She smiled.
Before Lewis could reply, the ominous lawyer approached them.
“Congratulations,” he extended, without any emotions attributed to it, “Wonderful ceremony.”
“Thanks,” Arianna replied with a sarcastic tone, while ignoring the man as best as possible.
“Yes…well…” he adjusted his already straight tie, “With almost a whole minuet to spare, the two of you were married before three. Therefore the company…goes to you.” He handed over a business envelope.
Arianna squealed happily, throwing her arms around the stoutly lawyer and hugging him; before snatching the envelope up herself. She squealed again, this time embracing her husband. She almost hung off his neck.
“So, are you gonna tell me what you won?” he eyed her with usual suspicion.
“Well, Mr. Kinseki,” she kissed the tip of his nose, “You are now a C.E.O. of DrugCo. Pharmaceuticals and Research.” She happily reported.
Lewis was dazed, “Does this mean I don’t have to mop the floors anymore?”
“Oh Lewis,” she rolled her eyes and laughed at him, not in a hurtful manner and kissed him.

“Excuse me…excuse me…” he could hear someone…somewhere…

“Excuse me!” the woman was waving her hands in Lewis’ dazed face, “Are you Mr. Carey?”
“Huh?” Lewis shook the haziness from his head, “Ah…no.” He couldn’t help but stare at her: that odd colour combination on her head and the sparkling stud in her nose. Mostly it was the embroidered nametag on her shirt. Arianna was written in red thread.
“I’m Drew Carey,” Drew came over to the door, pushing Lewis out of the way. “How can I help you?”
