The objectives of the OTTAWA DISTRICT BADMINTON ASSOCIATION are set out in part 6  (“The objects for which the corporation is incorporated are”) of the Letters Patent (Ontario Corporation Number 714171), dated April 30, 1987.  

 

To organize, administer, encourage and promote the game of badminton in all its aspects within the territory determined by the Ontario Badminton Association as the Ottawa District;

To uphold the laws of badminton as at present adopted by the Canadian Badminton Association with such amendments thereto as may be made and adopted from time to time;

To affiliate with the Ontario Badminton Association;

To receive and maintain through membership fees, sponsorship and other sources, funds to be applied, from time to time, all or part thereof and the income derived thereof, for the purposes aforesaid within the Ottawa District area as defined;

For the attainment of the objects aforesaid, to solicit and accept payments, donations, gifts, grants, legacies and bequests;

For the attainment of the objects aforesaid, to buy, hold, own, maintain, control, take, lease, sell, assign, exchange, transfer, manage, improve, develop, pledge, mortgage or otherwise deal in and dispose of, either absolutely as owner or by way of collateral security or otherwise, any property, real or personal, moveable or immovable and assets generally.
