This original Anglo Saxon family was located in Essex, England. Family members immigrated to many otherlocales.

One of these areas was Scotland and, now, because of serial intermarriages over the course of centuries,
the family name can  be Scottish with a dash of
English.

The Coat of Arms illustrated was sent from Scottish relatives as the original Scottish family arms.Some
genealogical expertise asserts that it may be the first
family arms from Essex, England, brought  by settlers
to Scotland centuries ago.

Background tartan is the main clan Hamilton and
one of author's grandmothers was Mary Ann Hamilton, Dundee, Scotland.
