School Regulations
Those who do not obey the following regulations may face disciplinary consequences such as; a warning to the student, the requirement of a written apology by the offending student, a suspension and/or expulsion from the school. The disciplinary action is determined upon the collective agreement of the principal, the homeroom teacher, board members, the student and his/her parents/guardians, and approved by the principal.

Introduction
Nikka Gakuen is designed to create a supportive learning environment for the ÅgTotal Japanese EducationÅh We are a community of students, parents and staff (the principal, teachers and volunteers including members of the board of directors) working together to be the best that we can. Accordingly, it is expected that we will be familiar with and to obey the regulations that follow.
Respect for others
Listen to others and respect their rights and feelings. Any form of violent behaviour verbal and physical harassment is not tolerated. Vulgar or inappropriate language and gestures are not tolerated either. No student will bring to school or school related function or have in his/her possession any object that may be considered injurious to others.
[Any form of violent behaviour may result in disciplinary consequences. Any form of physical punishment by staff is not allowed.]
Respect for property
Nikka Gakuen has rented the property of Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute (200 Fundy Bay Blvd. Scarborough) based on the permission of the Scarborough Board of Education.
Respect for staff
Students are expected to comply with the rules of the school and with the expectations of staff in the srooms, the hallways, and on the school grounds.
[Those who act inappropriately or disrespectfully in school may face disciplinary consequences. Those who display any physical or emotional harassment against staff may also face disciplinary consequences.]
Personal property
Students should not bring to school articles of substantial value such as radios, walkmans, CD players, cellular phones, video games etc... Except for grades 1 and 2, all students are expected not to bring any kind of snack to school. As balls are provided by school to play with, students should not bring any balls.
[Bringing, cigarettes, alcohol, illicit drugs, or any type of weapons including knives and fire-arms, matches, and lighters is forbidden. Students caught with any of these may face disciplinary consequences and the police may be notified.]
