Christian is also interviewed here, but I wanted to include this because Mark says quite a bit in this one.
After touring U.S. cities for six months, the band decided to take a trip down memory lane with ChickClick. Here's what Mark Barry and Christian Burns had to say:
ChickClick: What's your favorite school memory?
Mark: I was chosen as "most athletic guy" in high school. I achieved my highest goals and I received a trophy at the end of the year. I played many sports-basketball, soccer, and rugby.
Christian: I think it was being in the school plays and drama classes. I loved performing onstage.
ChickClick: How did your career begin?
Mark: I've always been singing around the house, in the car and even in the shower. My career began about four years ago, and I met the guys around five years ago. We were all from different bands. Basically, I met the guys and we always got along great. Eight months after knowing each other, we started writing music together. Everyday we went to record companies and we started getting a lot of attention. Then we did showcases and here we are now.
ChickClick: What other interests do you have, other than singing?
Christian: I like soccer and football. I also like going on the Internet a lot.
Chickclick: What is the next single you are going to release? Are you going to shoot a music video for it?
Mark: We've got a lot of great songs on the album and seven strong singles. We're still debating on which one to choose. It's either going to be among Next Time, Still On Your Side or I'm Not in Love, [which] is my favorite single off the album.
ChickClick: Are you comfortable with being considered a boy band?
Christian: Well the thing is that people can call us whatever they want. As long as people say that they like the music, I'm fine with that. I just want to please the fans.
Chickclick: You have been touring with Britney Spears. Tell me about her.
Mark: Britney is a really nice girl. We met her a few times. She's like an ordinary down to earth girl, very genuine. With the amount of success she has had, it doesn't seem like it has affected her. She digs our album and she's a very big fan of our music. She's amazing.
Christian: I don't really know her because we've only said "hi" to her a few times. She seems like a very sweet girl, very polite.
Chickclick: Speaking of Britney, what do you look for in a girl?
Mark: I think she has to have a lot of personality, someone who is fun to go out with and makes me laugh.
Chickclick: In addition to music, would you ever take up acting?
Mark: For the time being, I think we would just keep with the music. But later, I might consider acting onstage.
Christian: I would definitely consider taking up acting, but not at the moment.
Chickclick: Boy bands are known for having pre-packaged music, so who writes your songs?
Mark: All three of us write the music. The melodies are all ours. The harmonies are all ours. We like to get involved in every aspect of the music because that is the only way for us to express ourselves.
