June 8th, 1936   -   February 14th, 2003 †
DEVOTED WIFE OF 45 YEARS
LOVING MOTHER OF TWO SONS & ONE DAUGHTER
DOTING NANA OF TWO BOYS

Marie Gallant was a happy homemaker and a retired Financial Adviser.
A 24-year cancer survivor - she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by
her loving family, as her kidney failed (she was born with only one functioning kidney).

She not only taught her family how to live, but also how to die!

She graduated from a 10-week course in Palliative Care.  She wanted to help others
cope with cancer.  Instead, her knowledge and workbooks aided her family to care for
her in her own home.

She Loved LIFE and LIVED it to the fullest!

GOD was always first and foremost, FAMILY a close second.

She believed in, and lived these philosophies:

"YESTERDAY is HISTORY"

"TODAY is a MYSTERY"

"TOMORROW is the PRESENT"

- also known as a "GIFT"

"Never ask GOD why? - but WHAT do you want me to do?"

"Get busy Living, or get busy Dying - The choice is up to you!"

"I may have a disease, but the disease DOES NOT have me!"

A nurse once questioned how she could possibly remain upbeat and constantly smile
while receiving news of further cancer spread and impending death.

"It's easy" she said, "It's a win-win situation.  Either I will wake up in the morning to
another day, or I will wake up in JESUS' loving arms.  My bags are packed and I'm ready
to go whenever HE calls me."

Beside GOD and her FAMILY, she loved:

 • The Rexdale Alliance Church and it's fellowship
 • Her friends and their friendships
 • Roses and African Violets
 • Costume jewelry (especially watches)
 • White Diamonds perfume
 • Baking (she was excellent in the kitchen)
 • TV game shows:  The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune
 • Crossword puzzles, jokes and laughing
 • Travelling - she took advantage of every opportunity to do so
 • Bargain shopping and using discount coupons
 • Spa treatments and make-up
 • Natural Vitamins and Minerals; she disliked prescription drugs
 • Music - especially Loretta Lynn (country) and Gospel tunes
 • Parties - and the fun only started once she arrived
 • Being a NANA - she always had a picture or a tale to tell of her boys
 • Being challenged, whether it was problem solving or learning how to
the computer.  She would never give up or in to any situation.
She learned how to play the piano and how to swim late in life.
She sold Barbie doll clothes and costume jewelry, and she learned
how to analyze and color co-ordinate a person's wardrobe.
 • Helping others, whether financially, physically, or Spiritually.
She was the greatest cheerleader and mentor to her ailing daughter.
She not only nursed her, but also prayed her back to good health.

She may have Physically left this world, but Spiritually and Eternally she will always live
forever in the Hearts and Memories of those who were privileged to have known her.

This is not GOODBYE but SEE YOU SOON!

 WE LOVE YOU

MARIE
IF YOU WOULD DIE TODAY, WHERE WILL YOU GO
AND HOW DO YOU KNOW?

There are 3 myths of modern religion:

Myth 1:All religions lead to the same God

Truth:There is only one way - Through Jesus Christ

John 14:6Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the Life. No one comes to
 the Father except through me."

Acts 4:12Peter said "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name
(Jesus) under heaven given to men be which we must be saved."

Matt 7:21,25Jesus said "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord' will enter the
kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is
 in heaven."

Myth 2:Good people go to heaven. The moral truth is that goodness is necessary.

Truth:No one is good compared to God.

Rom 3:10As it is written there is no one righteous, not even one.

Rom 3:20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight be observing the
law; rather through the law we become conscious of sin.

Rom 3:23For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Rom 5:8But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still
 sinners Christ died for us.

Myth 3:We have to or can work our way to heaven.

Truth:Salvation is a gift. There is nothing we can do to earn it.

Eph 2:8-9For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

Rom 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
 Jesus our Lord.

WHAT MUST I DO?

Repent and Believe!

Mark 1:15"The time has come" Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and
 believe the good news!"

Rom 10:10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with
your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Rom 10:13"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

GOD'S PROMISES

John 3:16Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only son that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal Life."

John 3:3Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God
 unless he is born again."

John 1:12-13Yet to all who believed in Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave
the right to become children of God. Children born not of natural descent,
nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

SINNERS PRAYER

Dear Father, I know that I am a sinner and need forgiveness.
I believe that Christ died for my sins. I am willing to turn from sin.
I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my
personal savior. I am willing by God's grace to follow and obey
Christ as the Lord of my life. --Amen
