October Birch Grove Fibre BlendBack to The Knitting Girl's Fibre Gallery There were birch trees in front of our cottage. When we would go up in October, the leaves had turned gold. Fallen leaves turned the ground gold. When the wind blew, even the air turned gold with fluttering, falling leaves. It even smelled different than the woods behind the cottage, where different kinds of trees grew. When I read about the mallorns of Lothlorien, I always think of those birch trees. Mostly cotton and unknown fibres. Some wool. |
