I teach from my home or from yours, whichever you prefer.
It is my experience that when learning how to knit, a student will need lessons closer together at the beginning of a project and further apart once the pattern is established. For this reason, I set up lessons by appointment rather than by week.
Bring one or two friends to share an hour-long appointment or half-day workshop and split the fee. I can also work with groups with mixed levels of knitting experience: the novice reminds the more seasoned knitter of the joy of discovery while the more complex projects of the experienced knitter can provide inspiration and a goal for the newer knitter.
My first knitting student was my mother. This may seem backward, but I learned from my paternal grandmother.
While living in Scarborough, I taught knitting classes at Bethany House, a shelter for teen mothers. (Sadly, Bethany House lost their funding and is no longer in operation.)
I have taught knitting to co-workers at my various places of employment.
I have run half-day workshops and lessons at my home.
