What would day camp be without camp songs? We all
remember that long bus ride to Marineland, singing everything from
"Titanic" to the "Nose Picker" song. I still have days when I will be at
work, sitting at my desk, and be humming "There was a great big moose..."
|
|
|
Below is a list of the classics. Some of them have the words, but you will have to remember the tune on your own. Feel free to mail me if you have any songs to add to the list. Remember
the words written below are just that, words. It is up to you to
take them and turn them into a camp memory. Whether it
be bouncing off of the bus seats as a monkey during the animal song (Peter
of course), or singing song book as a red neck (who could forget Jenn), it
is the added flare that made a KIDACA song the best.

| ANTI-GARDEN SONG | |
|
Slug by slug, weed by weed My garden’s got me really teed All the insects love to feel upon my tomato plants Sunburned face, scratched up knees My kitchens choked up with Zucchinis I’m shopping at the A & P next time I get the chance The crabgrass grows, the ragweed thrives The broccoli has long since died The only things still left alive are some radishes and beans My carrot plants are dead and gone Hear the rabbits sing a happy song Until you’ve weeded all day long, you don’t know what Boredom means You get up early, work ‘til late Watch moles and mice get over weight They eat their dinners on a plate from the hard work you have done As ye sow, so shall ye reap But I smell like a combat heap I’m gunna get that lousy creep who said gardening was fun.

| Fresh Prince of Bel Air | |
| Now this is the story all about
how, My life got flipped, turned upside down, And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air. In West Philadelphia I was born and raised On the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin all cool, And all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good, Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, And said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air." I whistled for a cab, and when it came near, The license plate said "fresh" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cat was rare, But I thought "Nah forget it, Yo homes to Bel Air." I pulled up to the house about seven or eight, and I yelled to the cabby "Yo homes, smell ya later." Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air. |
