Jesus and the New Age Cult of Eckankar

Is Eckankar anti Jesus?

Welcome. I felt this site was simply necessary in order to caution everyone seeking spiritual truth.

Eckankar claims to have great knowledge about Jesus' life and purpose, from the highest spiritual sources.

However, upon studying the following, you may see that the new age cult of Eckankar is nothing more than

one of Satan's many new age lies about who Jesus is and what he taught.

Eckankar was founded in 1965 by a man named Paul Twitchell.

It's current leader is known as the Mahanta whom is said to appear to his followers in the spirit world

to act as a spirit guide for his students called chelas.

Eckankar also claims an unbroken line of ascended masters from the beginning of world history whom

now can also serve as spirit guides for the chela.

One goal of Eckankar is to escape the wheel of karma by ascending to higher and higher levels of Eckankar's

heavens. Once the chela reaches a certain level, that chela is told that he will never have to reincarnate again.

The other goal is for the chela to attain what the new age movement in general refers to as ' God-consciousness'

in which the chela realizes that he is a god or even God himself.

' The Flute of God ' Paul Twitchell

pg5. " This is the cycle of God for man, for man must become as God eventually."

pg7. " We are gods of course, but gods of our own universe, and gods among other gods. Every man, woman and

child is God!"

pg8. " Why is it that so many become upset when hearing the truth? It is because those individuals have not yet

developed to the point where they understand that they themselves are God."

This new age occult teaching stems back to the beginning of Satan's rebellion against God in which

he also inspired people to rebel along with him through practices which God has forbidden.

These occult practices in Eckankar develop the chela's contact with the occult spirit world and also put the

follower in contact with demonic spirits posing as ascended masters.

These ascended masters or Eck masters, escort the chela into supposedly higher and higher regions of so-called

heavens at which point the chela will come to believe that he is reaching a ' God-conscious' state.

These levels of heavens promoted by Eckankar however, are actually mocked up into the consciousness of the

chela by his spirit guides.

In Eckankar, the follower is required to surrender himself to the ' inner master' or spirit guide. If this is done, the

spirit guide can then have control over what the chela sees and experiences in his dreams and in the spirit world.

From that point, it is then very easy for a demon guide to induce counterfeit levels of heavens into the follower's

consciousness.

Since it's inception, Eckankar's teachings have

more or less, in the public eye, promoted all religions as being equal and valid.

' The Drumbeat of Time ' Harold Klemp

pg172. " God established the Islamic religion just as he established the Christian religion, but he also established

ECKANKAR. Each of these religions is valid."

' How The Inner Master Works' Harold Klemp

pg81. " The idea of finding truth is similar no matter what religion you are in, because all religions are of God.

If more people understood this, they wouldn't be so eager to tear other religions apart."

Whether secretly or otherwise, however, it's teachings have consistently been opposed to orthodox religions.

This refers in particular to Eckankar's teachings on Christianity.

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book1 Paul Twitchell

pg181. " ...the mission of the Mahanta on this earth is to stir the millions of non-initiated into revolt against

all orthodox religions."

' The Tigers Fang ' Paul Twitchell

pg50. " Look only to yourself to give you truth and do not depend on any word, book, philosopher or preacher. All

philosophers, preachers and sages who have the odor of philosophy, religion and knowledge are not any of these.

They are pretenders, these who pretend to have undergone the profound experiences of God; the faker drawing on

experiences of real mystics ..."

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg222. " No other path will lead to emancipation, for no priest nor clergyman can redeem any individual on earth.

They claim that their founder and savior can, but this is not true, for he is not a living Master and the saviors who

are worshipped today in this world are gone."

' Letters to Gail ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg25. " The Protestant Creed, the Catholic Creed, and Buddhist Creed- all under the present interpretation are

materialistic and have no place in the spiritual life."

Eckankar, in promoting it's own levels of occult heavens, has also taught that a being called the Kal or Jot Niranjan,

occupies the lowest levels in Eckankar's heavens. Eckankar teaches that this Kal being is Jehovah or Yahweh,  the God of the

Jewish and Christian religions.

Eckankar then teaches that this same being called the Kal is also Satan.

' Letters to Gail ' vol1 Paul Twitchell

pg139. " The Gnostic makes claims that the Jehovah of the Old Testament is really Satan- and when you come to study the

narrow, hidebound laws he laid down you might agree."

' The Secret Teachings ' Harold Klemp

pg100. " Sometimes people pray to Jot Niranjan on the Astral Plane. He is often known as Jehovah."

' Letters To a Chela ' first series, #3 ( about Jesus )

pg1. " Therefore we see him as really a son of Kal Niranjan who is king of the lower worlds and expresses himself

in the male gender..."

' The Secret Teachings ' Harold Klemp

pg231. " You might say that the evil force, the devil, Satan- known as Kal Niranjan in ECKANKAR, is a hired

employee of the Sugmad."

Meanwhile, Eckankar promotes a being called the Sugmad as being the highest and true God.

This being called the Sugmad happens to be the devil that Christianity has been opposed to since the beginning.

Eckankar believes that this occult devil the church fights against is no devil at all

but is actually the highest god or Sugmad as they call him.

' Letters to Gail' book2 Paul Twitchell

pgpg88-89. " Her book by the same title is worth your time to look up and study. It's a small

book and will be that which can give you much comfort in learning to make contact with the Absolute." ( about Helena Blavatsky's book)

' The Secret Doctrine' Helena Blavatsky

pgs171,225,255vol2. " Lucifer represents..Life..Thought..Progress..Civilization..Liberty..Independence..

Lucifer is the Logos.. the Serpent, the Savior."

' The Tigers Fang ' Paul Twitchell

pg156. " Why has God been kept a secret?" I asked. Who has kept the secret of God?" he replied.

The priestcraft, of course." ( Eckankar's writings have referred to priests as the ' priestcraft' )

In it's counterfeit heavens, by using the occult spirit world, Eckankar has, in the consciousness of

it's followers, switched the roles of God and the devil around.

' Letters to Gail ' vol2 Paul Twitchell

pg72. " Many believe that Jehovah, or Yahweh, is God. The masters of this earth are responsible to this deity unless they

have developed beyond him, toward God himself."

To the masses, Eckankar basically portrays Jesus as one of many in a long line of Eckankar's ascended masters who have

supposedly lived throughout history.

' Letters to a Chela ' Paul Twitchell

" ...he did not receive the name of Jesus until he was initiated by the ECK Master Fubbi Quantz, at the Katsupari

Monastery in northern Tibet."

" He spent three years at the Katsupari Monestary where he studied ECK and received the second initiation."

In Eckankar, after only a few years and the second initiation, chelas may come to believe they are actually at a

higher spiritual level than Jesus himself!

Eckankar's teachings on Jesus from past to present, have specifically portrayed Jesus in a very different, often contradictory,

and very negative light as you will see below.

                                                                  The crucifixion of Jesus

The crucifixion of Jesus is addressed by Eckankar in different ways.

Firstly, Eckankar hints that the crucifixion story in the Bible is mythical and was borrowed from other cultures.

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country' Harold Klemp

pg14. " The story of Christ's crucifixion for the sake of his followers is borrowed from the legends of the Hindus, the

Persians, the the Greeks, the Celtic Druids, the Mexicans and others."

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp

pg14. " Krishna, Mithra, Prometheus, Hesus, and Quetzalcoatl were all ancient saints who died by crucifixion.

Christianity did not originate the concept of a crucified savior.

In other Eckankar teachings, The reader is told that Jesus was in fact crucified. Such is the passage below.

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp ( In this passage, the leader of Eckankar tells of a past life in which

he was a friend of Jesus.)

pg90. " Then in quick succession, came the capture of Jesus, his judgment, and crucifixion. His death was the death

of my hopes."

In bringing in the new and everlasting covenant, Jesus made the old covenant obsolete. In doing so, Jesus has saved us

from being bound to the laws of the old covenant. Therefore, God has allowed us salvation not through following the

law, but by repentance and faith in Jesus as our everlasting savior who interceded for us on the cross.

" For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but

it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me."

Galatians2:19-20

The healings and miracles of Jesus

Eckankar has taught that Jesus did in fact work miracles on earth- directly through the power of God. Eckankar then

tries to equate it's own occult derived miracles as being equal to or the same as the miracles Jesus worked through the

Holy Spirit.

' How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times ' Harold Klemp

pg10. " The Spiritual Exercises of ECK build your faith in the Spirit of God and It's power to do miracles. There's a story of

the two blind men who came to Jesus calling after him to heal them. Jesus asked," Do you think I can do this

thing?" They both said yes. Jesus touched their eyes and said," According to your faith be it unto you." And their eyes

were opened. their great faith had opened them up to the healing power of God."

' The Art of Spiritual Dreaming ' Harold Klemp

pg147. " You know that the kind of miracles reported in biblical times still happen today, all the time. All you need

to do to recognize and benefit from these gifts of the Holy Spirit is to open up your consciousness."

However, and strangely enough, in another Eckankar writing, it is said that Jesus never worked true miracles but

only used natural cures to heal people.

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country' Harold Klemp

pg89. " News of Jesus' miracles convinced me little by little that he was a special person, but today, taking his

miracles into perspective, he only used natural healings that seemed like miracles to the inhabitants of Palestine."

" What seemed like miracles to the people was merely the application of advanced medical knowledge, but these

so-called miracles stood Jesus in good stead with them..."

In yet other writings, Eckankar belittles the miracles that Jesus worked, attempting to cast possible doubt

as to the usefulness of Jesus' healings on earth.

' How To Find God ' Harold Klemp

pg9. " Too often we think of the healings of Christ as being permanent. We have no record beyond the

time of the healings. Did they last or didn't they? Or how long did they last? It never occurs to us that even

though a person was healed of a very great illness, can a healing wear out? How about those who were raised

from the dead? Are those people still here today?"

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp

pg193. " The early followers of Jesus were also torn by the paradox of a divine power that failed to treat all

people, across the board, but only selected ones. And of those healed, some died a few years later. What was special

about the healings of Jesus if they were not permanent?"

The miracles reported in New Testament times were often done in order to demonstrate the power of God and the validity of

the gospel concerning Jesus Christ.

This often resulted in people giving glory, prayer and praise to God.

In this way, God's relationship with his people was strengthened and they grew in faith in Jesus Christ.

" Jesus said to him, " Receive your sight; your faith has saved you." Immediately he regained his sight and followed him, glorifying God;

and all the people, when they saw it, praised God." Luke18:42-43

"...how can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? It was declared at first through the Lord, and it was attested to us by those

who heard him, while God added his testimony by signs and wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, distributed

according to his will." Hebrews2:3-4

True miracles in biblical times as well as today do not come from occult rituals or practices of the new age movement.

False miracles of the occult are carried out through the power of Satan and his demons who deceive souls into following

them.

The false miracles promoted by the new age movement, foreshadow the coming of the antichrist whom according

to scripture, will deceive the whole world.

" The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of

wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved." 2Thessalonians2:9

                                                                 Jesus' triumph on the cross

Eckankar has taught that Jesus was an initiate of Eckankar. As such, he is presented to be in league with the

other spirit guides or Eck masters of Eckankar as one of many successful beings who taught the truth on earth.

' The Tigers Fang ' Paul Twitchell

pg43. " There is always the short way from bad karma to good karma. Jesus showed the way and Rebazar Tarzs,

the Godman, can also show the way."

On the other hand, Eckankar is peppered with teachings which are contrary to the above passage. These other

writings are blatantly teaching that Jesus is a failure who died on the cross for nothing.

' The Eck-Vidya Ancient Science of Prophecy ' Paul Twitchell

pg22. " Although I lived in the tumultuous times of Jesus, it's possible to look back into that particular life today

with a more objective viewpoint and see that he was the victim of a plot, created by the rebels who were trying

to overthrow the Roman Government and by his own disciples."

In the below passages, Jesus is shown to be in the ' Court of Yama ' or ' Court of Karma' where he will supposedly

remain in order to apologize to every Christian who dies in the Christian faith. These are some of the most anti Jesus

of the Eckankar writings.

' In the Company of Eck Masters ' Phil Morimitsu( In this passage, the traveler witnesses a spirit entity- supposedly

Jesus, who shows himself to be a failure when a Christian man dies.)

pg175. " Jesus looked weary, but compassionate. I'm afraid there's been some misunderstanding in what I said. I can't

repay a debt you incurred two thousand years after I left the earth and physical plane."

" All I can do at this point is to try to clear up any misunderstandings I've created."

" I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do."

" As Jesus said this, he shrugged his shoulders, his palms upward in a gesture of helplessness."

' In the Company of Eck Masters ' Phil Morimitsu

pg176. " His mission was that of a world savior- and by this, he will be bound to the world."

pg178. " On the other hand, the followers of Jesus believed that he would take care of the karmic debts himself. Those

following him dumped all their transgressions on him, doing nobody any good. They didn't learn the laws of karma,

and now Jesus has to answer for all the things done in his name."

Jesus, being of the one triune God, knew that karma is not true and that man through his own efforts, cannot atone

perfectly for himself. Jesus knew the seriousness and the reality of sin which has no place in God's kingdom.

With this, he perfectly carried out the Father's will on our behalf so that we might not suffer the second death.

His triumph on the cross through his death and resurrection saves anyone who has faith in him and what he has done.

" And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment..." Hebrews9:27

" God put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far

above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age

to come." Ephesians1:20-21

                                                                     Jesus' virgin birth

In his earlier writings, Paul Twitchell, the founder of Eckankar, wrote specifically that the concept of the

virgin birth was fabricated and is not true.

' Letters to a Chela ' Paul Twitchell

" The biblical story of the immaculate conception is not to be taken too seriously, that Jesus was born of the

Holy Ghost and from a Virgin. This was invented to fit into the theology which at the time was formulated for

savior-gods."

However, in order for him to boost the status of the Eck master characters of Eckankar, Paul Twitchell

in the passage below, applied the virgin birth concept to the Eck masters and Mahanta- the present leader of Eckankar.

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book1 Paul Twitchell 2d ed.10th printing

pg111-112. " The ECK enters into the womb of a virgin, the queen of heaven, who has submitted to the true spirit

of the universe. The consciousness of the Mahanta state ( the spiritual form of the human Eckankar leader) is planted

as the human seed, and carefully nurtured in the womb. When the embodiment of flesh is brought into this world, a

man-child is born."

Again in other writings, Eckankar wishes to convince the reader that Jesus' virgin birth was nothing unique or

special and so equates his birth to the birth of other religious leaders throughout history.

' Letters to Gail ' vol1 Paul Twitchell

pg24. " Some two thousand years before the birth of Christ, a God was born in India, named Krishna. He was born of

a virgin mother, under the same circumstances as Christ, went through similar experiences, and preached ...."

Jesus virgin birth was necessary in order for him to remain as a pure and blameless savior for the sins of the world.

In offering himself back to the Father as the perfect sacrifice for humanity, his virgin birth, his sinlessness, his death on

the cross and his resurrection perfectly conquered sin and hell for those who have faith in him.

"...an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, " Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for

the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bare a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from

their sins." Matthew1:20-21

                                                                Sacrifice and self sacrifice

Eckankar teaches that religious believers who martyr themselves and suffer for their faith are wasting their lives

and are really doing no good at all.

' How the Inner Master Works ' Harold Klemp

pg82. " Some religions are based on the negative power, of course, such as those that get into the sacrifice of other

human beings."

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg152. " Metaphysics is the lower path and the way of suffering. The ECK chela cannot indulge in it, nor in

phenomenon. Orthodox religion is also a way of suffering."

' Letters to Gail ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg157. " The church teaches us that we must suffer in this life as Christ did- this is a statement which is certainly

a negative one - and that which entraps the person all over again."

' In the Company of Eck Masters ' Phil Morimitsu

pg193. " Most devoted followers of a teacher are willing- more than willing to give their lives for their master. To

die for him in some noble act of martyrdom or other such immature imaginings."

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg9. " This is the cause of martyrdom in man. He becomes infatuated with an ideal that is religious or political

and dies for it, if the occasion calls for such a sacrifice. ...The ECK Masters look upon this as suicide, or self

destruction, and shun it, for nothing seems more useless than to bring about their own physical death by some

feelings of stubbornness which amount to only astral emotions."

In Eckankar's own Bible however, it stresses that the follower of Eckankar must suffer and even die for Eckankar's

cause.

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg238-239. " It is during this initiation that the initiate must lose everything in life that means anything to him,

and sacrifice himself even unto death."

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg189. " When man is willing to sacrifice all that he has for the ECK, to give up the clothes on his back for his fellow

man, or to give his life for all- that is the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. When he goes to his death for his very

enemies, although they have burned his flesh and caused him suffering, he reaches the immortality of the Atma Lok."

In fully walking in the Christian faith, suffering- both physical and mental,  are often necessary in carrying out God's

will in a world that hates his righteousness.

It is at these times of suffering and personal sacrifice that great strength and revelations can come from God in helping

us to carry out his divine will in our lives.

When we are at our weakest personal point in life, we may then depend on God's unwavering wisdom and power and

can then persevere and continue in faith. This gives us an even stronger relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

" Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As it is written, " For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things

we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans8:35-37

" Therefore, to keep me from being too elated, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, to keep me from

being too elated. Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me, but he said to me, " My grace is sufficient

for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ

may dwell in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions and calamities for the sake of Christ; for

whenever I am weak, then I am strong." 2Corinthians12:7-10

                                                               The Bible-the written Word

In Eckankar, religious writings and scriptures are often held to be inferior to spiritual experiences in the occult.

This is easily seen in their derogatory teachings on Christian scriptures.

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg4. " All the doctrines of man being born in sin to be purified by the appearance of a messiah who dies for man's

sins are of a Kalistic belief." ( The Eckankar term' Kalistic' refers to a teaching or belief which comes from the devil.)

' The Living Word 'book2 Harold Klemp'

pg76. " By and large, orthodox religions are spiritually weak because their clergy must rely upon moral laws

and written scriptures for their authority."

' What Is Spiritual Freedom ' Harold Klemp

pg105. " To find God, you don't need to rely on scriptures that are several thousand years old."

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp

pg12. " Let me say this: the Bible is a scripture of inspiration more than of fact. It is a latecomer to history,

beginning it's account of history at the close of the bronze age."

pg241. " God's real power and love are not in the Bible, nor in the polished doctrines of man."

In it's writings, Eckankar has gone as far as to trample all religious scriptures entirely...

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg214. " No scripture or sacred writing can help anyone spiritually. It is not possible to serve any written

scripture for it is inanimate and without help of any nature.

Eckankar seems to apply this scripture bashing to all other religious writings

except their own of course......

' Illuminated Way Letters ' Paul Twitchell

pg216. " When the sacred teachings of the ECK have been put into printed books, such as the SHARIYAT-

KI-SUGMAD, all ECK chelas can go forth and by using it as reference can give all the holy scriptures of it to

the world. There is none greater than this magnificent scripture and we as the chelas of ECK must use it

as the source book, the living Bible of our beliefs and faith."

Eckankar's false gospel cannot lead one to righteousness nor increase one's morals, ethics or discernment between right

and wrong. It cannot bring salvation to individuals looking for the true kingdom of God.

It cannot inspire one to follow God's will.

The Christian gospel can do these things and provides the teachings and spiritual truths to lead one to salvation

through faith in Jesus Christ.

" To the weak I became weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some.

I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I might share in it's blessings." 1Corinthians 9:22-23

"...the Gentiles have become fellow heirs, members of the same body, and sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel."

Ephesians3:6

" But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood

you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by

God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may

be proficient, equipped for every good work." 2Timothy3:14-17

                                                              The resurrection

In order to belittle the significance of the resurrection of Jesus, Eckankar has attempted to equate his resurrection with

others who it is said have resurrected as well. This would seem to be an attempt to convince people that the resurrection

of Jesus was nothing special.

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp ( about Apollonius )

pg110. " He was further said to have risen from the grave and was, like Christ, seen by many people after

his resurrection. Eventually he too ascended into heaven."

' Letters to Gail ' book1 Paul Twitchell ( about Krishna)

pg24. " ...Arose from the dead and ascended into heaven just as Christ did. He was the founder of the Hindu

religion!"

In most of Eckankar's other teachings however, Eckankar plainly teaches that the resurrection of the body is a myth

altogether.

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp

pg64. " Tertullian, speaking for the orthodox mind of the church, insisted that the resurrection of the body

was a literal fact. The Gnostic Christians would not bend to such inordinate nonsense. Tertullian branded them

as heretics, and the orthodox church came to accept his doctrine of bodily resurrection."

' The Dream Master ' Harold Klemp

pg108. " The physical body does not resurrect. The body returns to the dust of the earth and stays there. This

is a great area of ignorance in many orthodox religions."

" Jesus said to her, " I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me , even though they die, will live, and everyone who

lives and believes in me will never die." John11:25-26

Eckankar would have people believe that they can visit the heavens now through demonically altered dream states.

This is a false resurrection derived from occult practices which only achieves contact with the occult spirit world.

These heavens are false. The real and true kingdom of heaven where God rules can only be granted to believers through

the true resurrection by God's power alone.

" And God raised the Lord and will also raise us by his power." 1Corinthians6:14

                                                         Christian priests and ministers

Eckankar, though it claims to be based on love, has an extreme hatred for active Christians, Christian ministers

and priests. It is clearly evident in the Eckankar writings.

' Letters to Gail ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg69. " ...the failure to tell the truth to the masses of people; the truth of spiritual reality, and not the drummed up false

theory given by a set of priests or lawmakers to keep the people in control. Out of that hypocrisy grows most of

our modern evils of moral and spiritual censorship."

pg 100. " You have a choice of doing what you want and generally winding up far ahead of the herd who

believed what some jolly-talker said from the pulpit."

' What is Spiritual Freedom' Harold Klemp

pg91. " We've all had our share of the wrong kind of love. Under this category I would put the so-called

missionaries who go into a society to change the people and their morals. Why do they do that?"

' Soul Travelers of the Far Country ' Harold Klemp

pg185. " Each of these ECK Masters is at a level far superior to that of a priest, rabbi, or pastor."

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg186. " The history of Eckankar, the Ancient Science of Soul Travel, has been written in the blood of all men-

men tortured in ignorance, those suppressed and discredited by orthodox religions, men seeking power, the mundane

masses, the priests trying to gain control over their subjects and the tyrants who live by terror and death."

pg215-216. " The clergy and pseudoteachers consider their sacred scriptures superior to the ECK. They are

making the supreme mistake in their spiritual quest. They regard some of their own members as saints, even

though they have made but little spiritual progress."

pg225. " The priests and clergy have acquired only knowledge, or joined religious orders for the sake of their

livelihood. A true seeker of ECK cannot have much regard for such persons."

' The Secret Teachings ' Harold Klemp

pg24. " Furthermore, they shout from their pulpits that if you don't believe the horrendous lies told by the

priestcraft over the centuries through the twisting and distorting of the sacred words, then you will go to

hell and be lost forever."

' We Come As Eagles ' Harold Klemp

pg28. " A Catholic priest has been attending ECK Worship Services in Minneapolis. He finds that it makes him

a better Catholic." ( ??? )

Christian priests and ministers, provided they continue through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the written Word,

are the true clergy and teachers of God's divine truth.

" Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God's sight, and like living stones, let yourselves

be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1Peter2:4-5

" The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip

the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the

knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ." Ephesians4:11-13

                                                         The Trinity

In one specific writing in one of Paul Twitchell's earlier books, he plainly states that the Trinity of Christianity

is actually a negative trinity which is under the rule of the Kal Niranjan or Satan!

' Letters to Gail ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg74. " Now within the negative stream in the lower worlds, under Kal Niranjan is the famous trinity so named by the

Hindu and Catholic religionists."

Eckankar, in attempting to replace the Christian Trinity, has formulated it's own version of the Trinity

'  Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg54. " The Trinity of Eckankar is the following:(1) The Sat Guru, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master; (2) the

ECK Satsang, or his company of followers; and (3) the ECK, or the true name which is the Bani, or the Sound Current."

Eckankar , by the use of it's counterfeit heavens, has falsely portrayed the Christian Trinity as being of a lower, psychic

order. This is a false teaching of Eckankar and will only inspire further rebellion against the true Father, Son and

Holy Spirit.

" Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my

Father in heaven; but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven." Matthew10:32-33

The one true Trinity of Christianity is the real and only divine and eternal power in heaven.

" When the Spirit of truth comes, he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that

are to come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason

I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you." John16:13-15

" In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things

came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was

the light of all people." John1:1-4

" And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth."

John1:14

God, whom exists eternally as the triune Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, does reign over all the earth and will come to judge

all peoples on earth in it's appointed time.

Baptism                                                                                                                                                                       To uplift the status of it's initiations, Eckankar in one  writing states that the initiations are just as sacred

as any Christian rite- such as baptism.

' How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times ' Harold Klemp

pg113. " But whether it's baptism or initiation, the rite is a sacred one, to purify Soul."

It becomes evident in other Eckankar writings however, that Eckankar considers Christian rituals and rites as being

empty and useless.

' The Living Word ' Harold Klemp

pg33. " The Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, is head of this spiritual order of ECK Adepts. He sets no store by

baptism, communion, or confession as practical routes to heaven. Such rituals and practices have little merit

in one's pursuit of true spiritual freedom."

pg36. " Neither baptism nor confirmation give Soul the passkeys to the true heaven, which begins at

the Soul Plane."

pg64. " The Vairagi Adepts know that the Holy Ghost is not received by baptism with water."

And another contradictory passage below teaching that the Holy Spirit is received through baptism.

' The Secret of Love ' Harold Klemp

pg119. " A dove is one of the signs of the Holy Spirit, as it is in Christianity- when Jesus was coming out of the water

at his baptism, there was the dove."

Baptism, as a whole, when accompanied by faith and repentance, joins you with Jesus Christ who paid the death penalty

for sin. Christians are joined to Christ and since Christ is sinless and was victorious over death, we can be fully united to him

through baptism.

In this way we can be victorious because we are united with Christ by his conquering of sin and death further through his

resurrection

" Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we have been

buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might

walk in newness of life." Romans6:3-4

"...when you were buried with him in baptism, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the

dead. And when you were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with him, when he

forgave us all our trespasses, erasing the record that stood against us with it's legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross."

Colossians2:12-14

.

                                                      Christian prayer

Eckankar also seems very hypocritical when it comes to prayer.

In many of it's writings, Eckankar teaches that Christian prayers of deliverance and healing are a spiritual violation

and a form of black magic.

' The Secret Teachings ' Harold Klemp

pg23. " There is nothing wrong with prayer, but the kind of prayer that is done by most people is wrong in that

it tries to control others, to make them come to one's church or to believe in one's savior- things like this. If you want

to say that anything in the works of Spirit could be wrong, it would be that type of prayer. It's wrong because by using

it to control others, one is playing with black magic."

Eckankar then goes on to teach it's followers never to use the ' HU' chant ( their form of prayer), to manipulate others

or to change people.

' We Come As Eagles ' Harold Klemp

pg9. " ...you should never sing HU, the name of God, to change another person's mind, will or state of health. That

person is what he or she is, and to use HU to try to change them is wrong."

In Eckankar's own Bible however, there is a specific teaching on using the HU chant to manipulate the lives

of total strangers to bring them over to Eckankar. Is this not the same black magic that Eckankar forbids?

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell ( about the ' HU' prayer or chant, through the voice of a follower)

pg83. " But nevertheless, it is a powerful instrument of love and detachment for that ECK chela who practices it

regularly. He reaches out to people whom he will never know and changes the course of their lives from the Kal

forces which might be gripping them to the ECK which will lead them to God."

Christians know that there is a war going on- a war for souls . Satan and his fallen angels, in the time they

have left, wish to take souls with them when they are condemned at judgment.

God has given us everything we need to resist the devil and his demons.

One of these weapons God has given us is prayer. Prayer, through the authority of a believer, brings one into closer

contact with God and can combat forces of darkness that wish to lead people astray.

This is why Christians pray in the realm of God's saving grace- so that more people can be freed from the bonds

of the devil and his demons. They may therefore be saved from sickness and from the future fate of the devil and his demons.

Christian prayer is a love for God and for the souls on this earth who are lost in their sins but can be saved.

" But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven..."

Matthew5:44-45

" It so happened that the father of Publius lay sick in bed with fever and dysentery. Paul visited him and cured him by praying and putting

his hands on him." Acts28:8

" I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know

the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians3:18-19

                                                              Sin and evil

' Letters to Gail ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg18. " You see Maya is actually the dreamworld in which you live in that dual viewpoint which sees good

and bad. Therefore what is called sin is but an illusion..."

pg129. " From the viewpoint of the Absolute, there is no evil, for he sees the karma of man working out the way it

has to be."

' Shariyat Ki Sugmad ' book2 Paul Twitchell

pg3. " The idea of man being born in sin is one of the oldest pitfalls which the Kal Niranjan could plan for keeping

Soul in ignorance of it's true glory."

' Journey of Soul ' Harold Klemp

pg192. " We do not have the concept of sin in ECKANKAR, because with that concept goes guilt. Guilt ties people up

in fear and dread. With every move they wonder, is this act going to take me to heaven or hell."

' The Secret Teachings ' Harold Klemp

pg49. " Some days we're doing great, and other days we're not. But the worst thing we can do is to feel guilty

and start criticizing or blaming ourselves, and saying, " I have sinned."

Eckankar does not teach the concept of sin because it teaches that the feeling of sin in one's life produces guilt.

However, the karmic teachings of Eckankar can produce far more guilt when applied to one's daily life.

' The Slow Burning Love of God ' Harold Klemp

pg175-176. " You realize that most of the misery or happiness that you have in your life today is what you have made

for yourself. This is an important point. If you'll extend this, you'll see that nobody is a victim.

That leaves you with only one place to point the finger of blame: right back at yourself."

pg232. " You know this even though life or the Holy Spirit has seen fit to make the experience come at the hands of

another person. You can say, " I caused this myself."

Eckankar teaches that everything that happens to you in this life, including crimes committed against you, have been

brought to you by your own hand.

This along with sickness and accidents, includes being robbed, raped, assaulted and so on.

With Eckankar's karmic teachings, every one of these things that happens to you is considered to be your fault.

Eckankar teaches that you brought these things onto yourself because of things you did in your past lives.

This is false guilt and serves no real purpose.

If a stranger robs you, can you really say, through karmic teachings that you had it coming and you caused it yourself?

If someone has been raped, can that person who believes in karma say, she's not a victim- she's simply paying off karma

for something bad she did in her past life- she had this rape coming to her in this life?

True guilt which comes from a knowledge of sin however, does serve a divine purpose.

In Christianity, the knowledge of sin brings a person to repentance and inspires one to turn away from doing evil things.

When you do something bad either to yourself or to another person, good guilt will be felt through your God given

conscience. This will inspire you to turn away from evil deeds and will turn you towards God and his divine will.

" While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed

a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to

all by raising him from the dead." Acts 17:30

" Now I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance; so that you were not harmed in any way by us.

For Godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret.." 2Corinthians 7:9

Just as everyone has God's divine laws written on their souls, there is another nature at work- the sin nature that

dwells in human beings.

It is opposed to God's will and laws and inspires people to rebel against God through their thoughts, speech and actions.

This sin nature makes all of us fall short of God's standards of righteousness.

People cannot conquer sin themselves by their own effort, and God knows this.

Through God's grace and love, he sent his Son to die on our behalf on the cross as the atonement for our sin natures.

God then raised him from the dead thus conquering sin which is something we cannot do.

Through faith, we can therefore be saved.

" For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God- not the result of works, so that no

one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

You have just had a glimpse of what just one new age cult- Eckankar, teaches about Jesus and Christianity.

Keep in mind that thousands of other new age cults teach similar things about Jesus of Nazareth.

These occult groups are not showing you any truth with respect to Jesus' identity but are actually attacking

his divinity and absolute truth as the Son of God who came to save us from the consequences of sin.

Please consider accepting the real Jesus of Christianity as your Lord and savior.

Admit in your heart that you are a sinner.

Be willing to turn away from your sin nature and come to repentance in your life.

Believe in your heart that Jesus died for you on the cross and has risen from the dead.

Pray and invite Jesus Christ to come into your life and accept him as Lord and Savior.

Pray to God daily.

Read the Word of God ( the Bible) and apply it to your life.

Tell people about Jesus every opportunity you may get.

Find and attend a good church where God's Word is preached.

Let the Holy Spirit guide you in your life through faith, love, and action.

" Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians6:11

" By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have

seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Savior of the world. God abides in those who confess

that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for

us." 1John 4:13-15
