My Hockey Jerseys CollectionHockey fans are an ecclectic bunch. And I am no different :)I absolutely love the game and especially love hockey collectibles and memorabilia. One aspect of collecting hockey artifacts is collecting hockey jerseys. There are all sorts of special hockey jerseys waiting for a willing collector. Over the years I have found interesting stuff from friends, in thrift stores, from memorabilia dealers, Ebay, and garage sales. Most of my minor league (midget, Junior A, etc) hockey jersey collection is stuff I got from university friends. You get to know people from all parts of the country and they each have some cool stuff they just may be willing to part. (beer buys a lot!) NHL jerseys are probably the easiest to get a hold of. Whether you get them new from sporting apparel stores, used from Ebay or garage sales - they are abundant. The recent trend of throwback jerseys has brought back some of the funky jersey designs from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Throwback or not, nothing can make the Canucks jerseys from the 80's a classic. Special occasion jerseys are rare. I mean, it is not that hard to find a Charlestown Chiefs (Slapshot fame) jersey, but some of the corporate stuff is hard to come by. Ebay is a good source for these rarer pieces. Some guy's junk can turn out to be golden for you!  |
