I decided I wanted to start a bit of work firewall forward, so I began by removing the exhaust system, from the cylinders out. The muffler just fits between the firewall, and motor mount, but you need to remove all the attachments on it. |
 Here is the muffler, and all the hot air accessories, boxed away for easy access. |

Darn... Looks like my Lyc.
does indeed have 7/16" exhaust valve stems. This is
looking up at cylinder #4's exhaust port with a 7/16"
wrench over the exhaust valve's stem. After I stuffed the four exhaust ports with oil soaked rags to minimize air movement into the engine. Sept 24, 2002 |
