Second Step: Work on the Wings!

Notice the plastic walls in the back ground. I've been building a sectioned off area in the barn containing both wings, that I'll call the "Paint-Booth". Eventually it will be a room fully enclosing both wings with plastic, with a door, and forced ventilation. This will be to minimize dust for the painting process.

Stripped off the RH wing.
It had quite a bit of rubbish inside, but aside from a little surface corrosion on the leading edge, the interior structure is as clean as the LH wing. The surface corrosion does not go very deep, and a little work with some sand paper will prepare it for an epoxy primer coating.

Another view...
Note the old fabric piled on top of the LH wing temporarily. I carefully cut the old fabric off so I could use it as a template for the new fabric. The starboard light was removed and placed with the port light, for safe keeping. I'll be cleaning them up to be ready for an epoxy primer then paint.

I'll likely be restructuring this web page into "Restoration Chapters" now that I am doing more than cleaning. Watch for more changes to the web site!
