When Did He Explore?

      Christopher Columbus explored from 1492 to 1504. He sailed after winter was over in the spring.  This way he had a long time to explore before the next winter came and made it difficult to get around.

 

Why Did He Decide To Explore?

   

He decided to explore because, before in Europe, people sailed east to get to the Indies. Christopher thought if he sailed west he could get there faster.  He believed that there was a shorter and quicker route to the Indies.  He knew that the world was round and he wanted to test his theory.
