1. Introduction by Terry Parrot, CUCO Chairperson.

2. Presentation on CATIA V5 Overview presented by Phil Markham, IBM.

V5 Update – CAX tools are revolutionizing industry - Industry moving to 3D. Native Windows NT - All Windows technologies built-in.
V5 is available in various platforms - each platform comes with configurations and add-ons available.
Natural progression of V4 applications that are the look and feel of V5 (sketcher, assembly, product structure, mock-up analysis, SKIN)
R3 introduced with Platform 1 Entry Level functionality, fills most users need.
Specification driven, smart modeler approach, capture and reuse design and process engineering.
Knowledgware is available with integrated tables and formulas.
Rendering available for the development of marketing brochures, etc.
Team PDM - Smart Team Solutions - project management solution for engineering departments of small and medium enterprises.
Platform 2 has more functions (circuit board design, kinematics, shape design, stress analysis, enhancements to DMU, plant layout, and assembly design enhancements).
Machinist for V5 - mold and die solution which will be integrated into V5 in the next release.
Fitting simulator to explode and to check assembly - disassembly.
V4/V5 interoperability in P2 product - check with experts.

3. Presentation on CADEE Contest, Jane DeFinney, IBM

CATIA Award for Design & Engineering Excellence Contest
Enter any original design using CATIA design software.
Prizes are available. Brochure is available and sent to customers. Entries for contest must be postmarked by July 31, 2000.

4. Terry - V4/V5 interoperability (DaimlerChrysler Awareness), Project table embedded into the model file for V5 conversion, also DaimlerChrysler has announced that the 10000 model Dimension is been changed to 2000 this will be for all new vehicle programs

Possible topics include V5 surfacing, Backward V5à V4, CATWeb, F D & T, TEAM PDM, SOLIDE import, possibility of inviting a Chrysler representative.

5. Breakout sessions - Experts from IBM and IBM Business- Partners provide first-hand demos of various functions of V5.

Matra - advanced use of V5 including knowledgeware.
Maverick - 1^st hand uses of V5, including part design to assembly design
DBM - 1^st hand uses of V5, including part design to assembly design High Level performance – high speed milling, automatic verification, real time machining time prediction.
