Memories of a more gentle time!

"Our Association Goals Are"



  • To provide a venue for associating with old business "friends."

  • Organizing various "Social" functions throughout the year

  • At least two enjoyable luncheons every year.

  • Our Annual Golf Tournament.

  • Also various other functions of interest to all

The membership of our "Association" is made up of people who have worked within the "food industry" over the past sixty plus years. Many members held prominent positions within their various firms.

These people are from the entire spectrum of the"food industry", head office, wholesale, manufacturing, food service industry, the retail distribution industry, food brokerage companies. The membership has people who have been business friends over many years, and this "Association" allows all of us to continue with these friendships.

The "Association" is operated with ten executive. President, Past President, Vice President, Sec/Treasurer, and six directors. All directors are asked to serve for three years. The president, who is selected from the directors, serves only one year. The Vice President automatically becomes President after the President has served out his one year term.

The cost of a yearly membership is $10.00. This money is used to pay for office expenses and also to defray costs of our bi-annual luncheons.

MEMBER OF THE YEAR 2006 - 2007

The Calgary Food & Associate Retiree's, "Member of The Year" was awarded to Lorne Vidler. Lorne is one of the newer retired members to join our association. Lorne worked in the Food Brokerage business in Calgary for many years.

He is a well known and respected member of the Food Brokerage industry in our city. Lorne has served as president of our association for the past two years.

He continues to keep our group viable as past president. Lorne has been the chairman of the golf committee for the past three years, and is continuing in this position this year. We all thank Lorne for his work on our behalf over the past number of years.
