For those of you who have experienced a live performance by Baaba Maal and Dande Lenol, you can understand that it is an incredibly potent spiritual experience  The first performance I experienced was at  Africa Fete 95' in Montreal. Since that show,  I've been hooked on his music and philosophy of uniting Africa and spreading peace, love and happiness to the rest of the world, and have made pilgrimages  to see him perform as often as I can. The last performance I experienced was in Toronto, Canada in spring 2004  where he treated a small gathering of fans with an intimate acoustic performance. Likely the next best thing to witnessing a domestic performance in his homeland of Senegal. Thanks go to Alan Davis of Small World Music for bringing Baaba Maal and other spectacular international artists to Toronto.
