To explain how Psychic Vampires attack, I must first explain what we attack with and are indeed attacking. Psychic Vampires use their Aura to attack their victim's Aura. The Aura, for those of you who do not know, is the life-sustaining energy force which is unique to each of us, without it we could not exist. The Aura of a Psychic Vampire has what has become known as tentacles. It is with these tentacles that we lock onto the Auras of those who are around us. Many Psychic Vampires do this spontaneously without knowing that they are doing it, although attacks can be deliberate. However, deliberate or not, the results are the same and critical energy is drained from the victim's Aura. When an attack takes place, the Psychic Vampire receives an instant energy surge while the victim experiences fatigue. Other physical symptoms include: dizziness, loss of energy, muscle tension, difficulty concentrating, headaches, and nausea. These symptoms may last for days even though the attack itself will only last for a few minutes. Prolonged attacks may result in chronic fatigue, sleep disturbances, irritability, depressed mood, and even physical illness. Signs of an attack can also be seen in the victim's Aura. When Psychic Vampires tap into others Aura to drain them, they leave behind a temporary dark point in the victim's Aura. These points of darkness are like puncture wounds in the Aura. They signal psychic trauma or recent invasion. Dark points associated with Psychic Vampire attacks are usually surrounded by a grayish discoloration, which indicates a serious depletion of energy. An attack may take little or no effort to initiate or maintain. In spontaneous attacks where the Psychic Vampire is not aware of the attack, neither the vampire or the victim may be aware of the energy transfer. The victim is usually within the peripheral vision when such an attack takes place but not allways, however, the attack itself may involve little to no eye contact between the two. Casual attacks by such vampires involve little to no social interaction with the victim, who may be selected simply because they are available. These attacks may take place in any public gathering. You may be wondering why and when people become Psychic Vampires. Psychic Vampirism usually begins in the early teen years and occurs when the receiving functions of the Aura dominate it's characteristics. Structural changes will actually become visual in the Aura. You are not without protection when it comes to being attacked by Psychic Vampires. Many procedures and spells have been developed to protect our Auras thus keeping your energy. Though protection may be as simple as envisioning a bright white circle around our Aura and confirming to yourselves that this circle will protect us and repel both negative forces and attacks. This is referred to as the halo effect because when you do this a white circle actually becomes visible around our Aura. Why have I told you this? Because allthough I have attacked when the need is great I usually restrict this to a few who are willing to sustain me. For me the joy that I get from recieving this gift from my sacrid is far more pleasurable than taking it by force.
